This charming studio located on the first floor near the living room is named in honor of current owner and the 5th Lady of Buhrman House, Gloria Alice Thomas and her grandmother Alice Jones Thomas. Alice was a missionary who loved to travel and explore the outdoors with husband Lloyd Brant Thomas and their son John, Gloria’s father. Alice attended Oregon Agricultural College (which later became Oregon State University) in Corvallis and also obtained a degree in Nutrition from Columbia University in New York. Her diaries describe her train travels and her time in Hawaii as a YMCA cafeteria manager where she served hundreds of guests per day. Gloria definitely inherited her love of hospitality and guest service from the original Alice.
This comfortable room features a daybed and trundle with plush twin mattresses to accommodate one or two guests and private en suite bathroom with shower. It is the perfect room for active travelers who will spend their days sightseeing around Southern Oregon and their evenings getting a restful night’s sleep. Although our goal is to provide a quiet environment throughout the home, this room is located near the living room so some activity noise may be overheard.
